DAY 21: WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON HOW THE MEDIA PORTRAYS BODY IMAGINE ON YOUNG GIRLS?

I love my husband very much and love spending time with him! But when he takes a few days off I loss track of my days. Oh my what am I going to do when he takes the first 9 days of September off?!

On with DAY 21..................

What's the Matter?! Think your body is Imperfect?! That's what mostly every girl thinks.

Body image plays a part in a young girl's life....

~ Who do you see when you look in the mirror?

~ Do you tend to put your own self down?

~ Do you get the feeling that you need to be taller, be skinnier, have smaller feet, have less acne, etc.?

You should be comfortable with who you are. How you see yourself can be the most important part of your life. People sometimes take in all of what's said by their peers or in the media. A lot of people put themselves down before others can get the chance. As a teen you change and as you change your view of yourself may change as well, for better or for worse.

In the media young girls can get brainwashed into thinking they need to be a certain size or look a specific way to be cute. the media's ads and commercials portray that for a girl, "thin is in and clear is here" meaning that if you are slim and have no physical flaws then you're fine.

There's a problem with how the media portrays women and how girls who are to become the next generation of women are affected by the ads that are out there. Having ads about fitness and diet or having models being used as a normal size girl on every other channel can have an effect on a young girl's thought process.
